DATABASE: OUR DAILY LIFE SYSTEM
Good Day Everyone! My name is Jan Russel S. Manlupig, and in this blog, I will discuss the essence of the existence of the database and how it affects individuals and groups. Additionally, I will give two examples of database systems that describe these components; Hardware, Software, People, Procedure, and Data: Let's Begin!
When you have some data, you want to store this data somewhere. This data could be anything. It could be about customers, products, employees, orders in which the format could be text, numeric or document files. In that sense, data is one of the most vital systems of each individual or group in their daily business, profit, patient history, customers, and other management terminologies leading to a database system. So, let me ask you, "Is the world creating a chaotic situation without a database?"
The database is an organized collection of very accessible and manageable data at all times. Some examples of databases you may encounter in your daily life are:
1. A karaoke song book;
2. Motor vehicle registration records; and
3. Manual files or computerized files
But in more profound thought, many databases have been used for specific purposes. These are the two examples of database systems and how these databases describe those given components.
1.E-COMMERCE: ONLINE SHOPPING
We all know about Shopee, right? It is one of the world's e-commerce platforms that summed up to eight million users, specifically in Southeast Asia. When we go online buying, Shopee is the accurate platform, and you find the product that you want to buy..
a. Hardware
- Hardware involves cubicle pc workstations in each worker, including specific output and input devices (keyboard and cameras) and networking devices (server and switch).
b. Software
- They used primarily called MyStock. It is a web-based inventory management system used for controlling the inflow and outflow of goods on multiple channels and to complete orders from Shopee stores. When you buy something, the app notifies.
- The also used SQL eCommerce. All sales transactions and payment are ready to be integrated into SQL Account. No adjustment or alterations on the eCommerce data. Data will be immediately imported into sales invoices and customer payments which directly to Shopee platform itself.
c. People
- Online platforms control mostly are headquarters or system administrator. Customer service agents controls for customers express their concern about a certain chaotic situations. And some employees working on an online platform. The customers used the online platform are end users.
d. Procedure
- Procedures and functions are sets created by headquarters statements grouped to solve a specific problem or perform a set of related tasks. This includes shipping couriers, seller's responsibiltiy, and customer's satisfaction.
e. Data
- It stores data files (personal information, name of the product, quantities, etc.), online redo log files, and other types of e-commerce files. Employees, specifically customer service, mostly do this storing data job, and they process it and send the information to the main headquarters.
